Ed Calvert and Cain

A letter from Ed:

I wanted to write and say hello. And to say thank you!

You (Hearts of Gold) changed my life dramatically. More than any human being has done in my entire life by giving me Cain.

Cain was the best thing that ever happened to me. I could see the love and the emotion he had for me in the depths of his eyes. He would stand guard over me on ambulance rides and at doctors' appointments. I was bedridden and almost died from an illness and he stood guard and kept me company through the night.

I am training dogs and helping others now and I always tell them a dog will change your life forever. Without Cain, I don’t think I could have survived the soul-crushing loneliness of all the sick nights, the PTSD, the chaos of my illness. I am so much better now thanks to him. You probably saved my life by giving me Cain. I am forever grateful. Hearts of Gold is so awesome. I hope you are blessed in life because I realize every day how much better I am as a person and human being thanks to Cain and you! And all the people of Hearts of Gold.
